Day 41 - ALOHA SINGAPORE!!

THE FINAL DAY in WUHAN!! I was fully packed and ready to head back home. We woke early today as we want to have our last breakfast with my local students. They came to our dormitory around 7am in the morning and none of us was fully prepared to go for breakfast. All my roommates still doing last minutes packed up. I have a chat with all with all my locals’ students and say thanks to all of them for everything they did to make my stay here very interesting.

After my roommates finish packing up, there was no time for us to have breakfast with the locals’ students. I say my apologised to them that we are unable to have breakfast with them. We need to assemble at the back gate of the Campus by 8am. All the locals’ students were there to help us to bring our luggage from the dormitory to the assembly area. When we finish putting all our luggage and belongings to the bus, I gave all my locals students a hug and say my final thanks to them. When I start boarding the bus, tears start rolling down my cheeks. T_T. We say our final goodbyes and we are off to the airport.

On the way to the airport, I was feeling unwell and feeling a bit dizzy. What a day to get sick! We came there early as we have a 4hour delay due to some flight problems. We reached at Wuhan Airport, and everyone needs to get theirs luggage check before we can go for off to Guangzhou. Everyone was rushing to go to an empty counter to check their luggage whether or not the luggage exceeds more than 30kg. When everyone was ready and set off to Guangzhou.

Why are we Waiting?!
When we reach the Guangzhou Airport, it was already 4pm and our transit flight was 4.30pm. All of us were confuse and it was impossible for all of us to reach the flight on time. The other problem was, we need to take our luggage before we can go for our next flight. When we are rushing to the transit area, there was an announcement that said that our flight have been delay to 5.50pm. Another 2hours delay. All of this cause as to reach home late.

We FINALLY landed at our BEAUTIFUL HOME, SINGAPORE. I am glad that everyone reached back safely and we can survive ourselves with the help of our friends for 42days. When we reached Singapore, it was already 10.25pm and we suppose to be back at 8.25pm. All the delay causes this. Never mind, everyone are happy to be back home. Smiles all around the arrival area as we all our families are waiting for our arrival. I say my goodbyes and give a hugs to all my friends and will meet them back in school. THE BEST TRIP I EVER HAD!!

Reflection
The day has finally come, all of us have been waiting for this day and we reached back home safe and sound. I know that all of us were very happy to reach back home but deep down in their hearts, they still miss all the things they did in Wuhan. It’s very hard to let go all the things we did together with the locals’ students and all the dumb things we did in Wuhan.

Every step I did in Wuhan, I will remember it for the rest of my life. The first things that happen when we reach to Wuhan were, a few of the locals students welcome us at Wuhan Airport and help us in pushing and carrying our luggage onto the bus. The first friend that I met was Chao Run. From there, we both become good friends and he starts to introduce more of his friends. We become like brothers and he has helped me adapt in my life in Wuhan.

There are a lot of activities that we did as a class. We have gone to many cultural sites such as The Yellow Crane Tower, 古琴台, The Three Gorges, Wu Dang Mountain and many more. Even though we don’t know about each other at first but the days at Wuhan have bond all 21 of us like one big family. We had helped each other, if one of us is feeling sick or facing any problems when staying at Wuhan. All of them have made my life in Wuhan very interesting and joyful.

The most important thing I remember for the trip was all the Happy moments I had with my friends. No one can take that away from me. When the last time I say my goodbyes to my local students, flashbacks start running through my head. All the good moments I had with them and the things they did like bringing us around or just buying us breakfast. This small things that they did that make my stay in Wuhan very Unforgettable.

The trip has helped me grow as a person. I become more independent and trying to rely more on myself than others when I am facing a problem. I have gain lots of experience and I hope that I can use this experience that I had gain and used it in the future. The memorise I had on this trip will stay in me for the REST OF MY LIFE.

Day 40 - The Last Night In Wuhan!!

This was going to be my second last day in Wuhan. I am fully pack and ready to go back home. But my heart is still here. I am not really ready to leave this country. All of my friends have the same feeling as me. Don’t have the feeling of returning back home.


Before we can go anywhere today, everyone is needed to do weighing of their luggage. Si hao will be on the Weighing area as he will the one checking everyone luggage and taking down the weight of everyone luggage. My group will be the first group to be weight and it is according to the alphabets of each group. I am group A so I will be the first group to do it. Each group can finish quickly if everyone corporate well with one another. This is a very important procedure because Mrs Neo is strict with this weighing and anyone that above the 29kg mark can delay the whole process and make the whole group get delay in the flight. Everyone finish half an hour earlier as everyone corporate very well and the process runs smoothly. There are quite a number of students that is above the 29kg mark so Mrs Neo need to meet with them and ask them to reduce the weight load.


After the weighing, we are going to go back to the first shopping place that we went when we first landed in Wuhan. All of us were going to Jiansheer Lu to go for do our FINAL shopping if ANY.

After the trip to Jiansheer Lu, we are meeting up with Ms Wong. She let 7 of us visit her home. We all are waiting for her outside dormitory. While waiting for Ms Wong, we saw our local students’ as they just finish with their class. We chat with them for awhile and we took our last group photo them. Not long after that Ms Wong came with Mrs Neo. It is a 5minute walk from the campus to her house.

Finally we reach Ms Wong house. When I enter the house, it feels that I am entering a Singapore home. It feels so cosy and warm. Miss Wong was not that happy to stay at apartment because the facilities in there were not that good. But her apartment is much better than our hostel and everything you need was there. I think Ms Wong just miss her Singapore Home.

After the visit at Ms Wong house, Ms Wong wants us to have dinner with them at a nearby restaurant. We know that we can’t reject her offer because this will be our last night here and this will be our last time seeing her until she come back to Singapore. Ms Wong orders for us the dishes and she treating all for us for dinner. Everyone start to eat after all the dishes have come.
I must really enjoy my dinner here because this was going to be my last dinner in Wuhan. T_T
After the meal, we went our separate ways. We say our goodbyes to Ms Wong and we hope to see her back in Singapore in 6months. We went back to our dormitory and do some last minutes pack up and enjoy our last night together in Wuhan.


Reflection
Today was my last night here in Wuhan. When was walking at the streets near my campus I remember all the things we did around the campus. My friends and I have being doing everything together such as getting groceries or going to bus stop and many more. The last thing I know that we only have one more day in Wuhan and time flies so FAST. WHY!? I hate this feeling because there is so much things haven really done yet and we need to go back home. The only thing I can say is that, I hope memorise will stay fresh in my head for the rest of my life.

Day 39 - Pack Up People!

A few more days, before I’m back in Singapore but I really don’t have the mood to go back to Singapore. I really like staying by myself plus with my friends and we really enjoy each other accompany. In a few days time, we will no more be roommate as we will go back to our home and staying alone in our room. I hate changing back to old lifestyle. I love the new change of environment. I still need to go back as Singapore is still be my number one home and all my family member is waiting for me to be back there.

Today, I going to use the time I have to plan on the IS Movie that I need to present in Singapore. There is a lot of things that needed to be done in a short period of time. I meet up with all my group members and assign them the things that needed to be done and needed to hand it to me by the end of the day. All my member are very corporative as they will listen to simple instruction and they do the job quickly and swiftly. That’s what I like about my group.

I am not going out today. Eline was not feeling well so she is staying in my room to do the project with me. We both can work well with one another and we have many interesting imagination that can make this movie very interesting. We spend the whole day in my room planning, watching movies together, eating and many more. We are too lazy to go out as we have run out of money. :x.

All of my other friends went to 光谷to do last minute shopping and get their hair done. They bought dinner for us. They were so kind to get dinner for us. After dinner, I use the time I have to pack all the stuff. I hate doing last minute packing; confirm there will be something that I forget to pack. It was tedious work to pack all the things that I have bought and the things that I bring back from home. Some of the stuff that I bring from home needs to be left here because there was not enough space and it very heavy. I pack all my clothing at one bag and the luggage was use to put all the gifts and the other odd shape items. Everyone luggage must be below 29kg if not we need Mrs Neo going to meet us personally and ask us why our luggage very heavy.

After the packing up of my luggage, my side of the room looks so clean and tidy. I can finally sleep at my bed. Everything feels so clean and cosy. I sleep a bit late today because we plan to watch late night movie together.

Day 38 - Last Shopping in Wuhan!

I woke up very late because of yesterday perfect dinner I had at the restaurant. A couple of my friends have make plans to go out to get something for our classmates back home in Singapore. I will be following the girls to go shopping and get all the stuff. The guys are not following me because both of them are sick and they are unable to get out from their bed.

We went to Jianghan Lu to get out classmate stuff. We went rounding around the malls to find the stuff we want to buy for our classmates but we can’t find anything. Our local students are going to go shopping with us. We want to get printed tees for our class but we don’t know which store will provide such services. Only the locals’ students know the place.

After we met out locals students, they brought us around and they are also unsure of the place but they keep on asking other stores to know where the store is located. After a few hours of searching, we still can’t find it so we need to find other stuff to get for our classmates. What a disappointment.

We enjoy our last shopping with our local student and have dinner with them. I am really grateful to meet them and be a part of my life. After dinner we did last minute shopping and get all the stuff that we need to get. This is going to be my last time at 步行街.I am happy that I was introduce to this place as this is my favourite place to shop in Wuhan. We went back together with the local students. :D

Day 37 - SportS Day and Farewell Dinner

There are quite a number of interesting events that happen today. The first interesting that happens today was, we are having a friendly basketball competition with the locals’ students. Si hao pass me the responsibilities to become the organiser of the event and i need to find 5 of our own students to participate in the competition. I took me less than 30 minutes to form a basketball team. The team consist of Si hao, Fathullah, Wen Jie, Daryl and me. We have a super sub which is Wei Qin.

We need to be at the basketball court at 10am and we saw a large number of crowds that was gathering on a single court. It’s the court that we having our competition at. I never played basketball before so it will be challenge for me but it never stop me from trying a new sport. Need to have a positive mindset. When we take a look at the local team and we see how they play. One things that I can say, we have no chance of winning them. They were really good in playing basketball.

I am the tallest among my own team but when I compare with the local team, I feel that I am just a small kid. HAHA! The game begins. We play quite badly at the first few half because we don’t the connection with one another. Half way through the game, Si Hao sprain his leg and need to bring him to the hospital. A couple of my friend followed him there and we can’t stop the game half way so we need to continue and finish the game. We only have one half left so we bring in all the Singapore students to play. We had a lot of fun playing with the locals even though we lose VERY BADLY but are about the experience not the points.

We went back to rest and to get ready for our next event which is the farewell dinner with the locals’ students. All of friends have plan to wear formal for this dinner as it’s a special night for all of us and maybe this is going to be our last dinner at a grand restaurant.

We all look good with our formal outfit and we need to meet up with the other students at 5.30pm at the main building. All the other students were looking at us because we were wearing formal outfit. I know that all of them a jealous. HAHA! We took a group photo in front of the main building before we proceed to the restaurant.

Everyone was assign to a table and no changes can be made to prevent any confusion. The night went smoothly and everyone was happy to spend their dinner with the locals’ students. Each group sent a representative to speak on behalf for everyone. Fathullah is speaking for everyone for the MDE and Sam is speaking on behalf of the ECE. They gave quite a powerful speech and after the speech, I feel that the time flies so fast and we only have a few days with the local students. I must full use of this few days and repay what they have done to make our trip memorable.

Reflection
Before I went to sleep, I keep on thinking on the things I did here in China. All the things that I do can be make possible with the help of the locals students. They have helped us a lot in adapting to this new environment and bring us around to new places. Without them, it is impossible for us to know so many places. I will give a special thanks to all my local friends and I will repay them the same way they treat me here when they come to Singapore.










Day 36 - Where Are We?!


Finally I really have time to relax and unwind. You know what I can do to relax myself, is going shopping with my friends. We only have few days here and I still left with a quite a large number of cash on my wallet. I need to spend it all because it is waste to change it back to Singapore dollar. Si hao and I have planned to go shopping at 江汉路.

We are going to out from our dormitory at 4pm. We were going to take bus 588 to get to 江汉路. This was my first time taking a double decker Bus in China! Cool Experience. It’s much different than in Singapore. We have gone to same place so many times, so we want to do a bit more exploring. We take one stop more after 江汉路.

It took us to a brand new place. It’s also another shopping district but I don’t what was the place called. Si hao and I went exploring the place and there are quite a number of unique items that is being sold at the store. The area is selling more girls stuff than guys stuff. It’s quite a disappointment. After we went exploring, we need to get back to 江汉路 to meet with the girls. We bought our individual stuff and I bought things for my family members. One of my friends withdraws more money at the nearby bank. The only bank that we trust is Bank of China because the currency change is much higher than the rest of the back in China.

Reflection
It is good to explore new places. It is brand new experience and we don’t know what is in store for us. I really like the feeling of getting to know new places because of the excitement and we don’t know what is coming up for us. One thing that made it more interesting is, I am not in an English speaking country. HHAHA! I only have a few days here so I must make full use of it and try to go new places if not I going to regret of not exploring new places. When going to a new country, we must have an open mind and try new things and go to new places. That’s my MOTTO.
